With the 2024 drill program completed, WIN Metals (ASX:WIN) reports assay results for the remaining drillholes from the Butchers Creek Gold Project in Western Australia are expected over the coming months.
These results will be evaluated along with the processing of two diamond tails from Butchers Creek Far South and one diamond hole at Golden Crown. The hole at Golden Crown was designed to gain structural data to assist in optimising the orientation of future drill programs targeting high-grade structures.
WIN has confirmed the resource growth potential for the Butchers Creek Gold Project in Western Australia, after completing a recent drilling program. WIN is taking the opportunity to reprocess all core drilled at the Butcher Creek Gold Project since 2020.
All core has been re-packed and dispatched to Perth for detailed geological, structural,
geotechnical and metallurgical analysis over the 2024-25 Kimberley wet season period.
Validation and remodelling of the data at Butchers Creek and Golden Crown will commence once
all data is received to inform new geological and mineral resource models before the 2025 field
season commences.
A 25-hole for 7,200m drilling program was completed, designed to increase the resource confidence and test for down dip extensions at the project and Golden Crown deposit area.
Win Metals, which has a market capitalisation of $12.37 million, says assays from three drillholes have been returned, which delivered coherent zones of mineralisation, including 66m @ 1.89 grams per tonne gold, including 17m @ 3.10g/t gold.
The mineralisation remains open down plunge.
CEO Steve Norregaard says although it is early days, the company expects more highlights to come from the first exploration program at Butchers Creek.
“We are only three holes into this program and the magnitude of the resource is confirmed,” he says.
“I look forward to more results confirming the quality of the gold endowment we are dealing with.”
The remaining assay results are expected to be returned over the coming months and will be evaluated along with the processing of two diamond tails from Butchers Creek Far South and one diamond hole at Golden Crown.
WIN Metals says the hole at Golden Crown was designed to gain structural data to support optimising the orientation of future drilling programs targeting high-grade structures.
Once all of the data has been received, WIN Metals will begin validating and remodelling the data for Butchers Creek and Golden Crown. This is expected to inform new geological and mineral resource models before the 2025 field season begins.
The Butchers Creek Project is located 30km south-east of Halls Creek in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
WIN Metals is a mineral explorer that holds 340km2 of granted tenure, prospective for gold, nickel, and lithium, in the Southern Goldfields and Kimberley regions of Western Australia.
