Belararox (ASX:BRX) has reported ‘strong’ geological continuity at its Kalahari Copper Project in the North-West District of Botswana (also known as Ngamiland) based on an initial geophysical interpretation.
The company has conducted a spectrum airborne electromagnetic survey over tenements PL0770, PL0773, and PL2743, with the latter two highlighting continuity of a prospective geological sequence.
The prospective geological sequence trends along strike to the northwest from the Khoemacau mining district and into Belararox’s tenure.
Belararox is currently modelling remaining data from the survey, which is expected to provide detailed drilling targets from inversions and interpretation once completed.
The company is conducting ionic soil geochemical sampling across selected areas within the PL0773 and PL2743 tenements. The sampling campaign is expected to be completed by the end of June.
Belararox has shortlisted drilling companies to begin drilling next month.
CEO Will Dix says the company is delighted that it has been able to identify “multiple robust drilling targets” across sections of the Kalahari Project.
“The devil is always in the detail with geophysical interpretation, and the ongoing work to better refine these target horizons is a crucial step in the exploration process,” Dix says.
“The success we have had to date working with the data to enhance the geophysical imagery immeasurably helps to narrow down the search window and minimise the risk of missing the crucial highly prospective D’Kar-Ngwako Pan contact when we commence our drilling program.
“We are in the process of awarding the drilling tender and I’m confident we will have rods spinning in the next few weeks.”
The Kalahari Copper Project spans 3,900km2, sitting southeast of Maun and near MMG’s Khoemacau copper hub, which currently produces approximately 50,000 tonnes of copper annually, focused on expanding to 130,000 tonnes per annum.
