Azzuro hits 11.94% copper at Red Hill

Azzuro Resources (ASX:AZ9) has returned copper grades of up to 11.94%, the highest from its 2026 drilling program at the Red Hill Copper-Gold Project in Mongolia.

The third batch of assays, covering five drill holes, extended the volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) system to close to 550m of strike. Azzuro says it remains open to the east, west, and down dip.

Hole MU2605 returned 1.6m @ 11.94% copper (Cu), 1.63 grams per tonne gold (Au), 30.13g/t silver (Ag), and 0.84% zinc (Zn) from 127.2m.

The hole, drilled about 124m west-northwest of MU2604, also returned 7m @ 0.80% Cu and 0.19g/t Au from 75m, and 14.2m @ 0.55% Cu and 0.03g/t Au from 113m. The company says the results support its interpretation that ‘higher-grade’ copper mineralisation occurs in the western portion of the system.

Hole MU2604 returned 18m @ 1.02% Cu, 0.54g/t Au, and 12.14g/t Ag from 74m, including 4.3m @ 1.27% Cu, 1.41g/t Au, 36.94g/t Ag, and 6.37% Zn from 87.8m. The reported intercepts are downhole lengths, with true widths yet to be determined.

Managing Director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren says MU2604 and MU2605 returned the highest copper grades from the program to date.

“MU2604 and MU2605 have returned the highest copper grades of our 2026 program, headlined by a massive-sulphide lens grading almost 12% copper in MU2605, while MU2606 confirms high-grade gold from close to surface,” Zunduisuren says.

At the northern gold corridor, MU2606 returned 6m @ 4.18g/t Au and 9.22g/t Ag from 18.7m, including 3m @ 7.38g/t Au from 19.7m. It also intersected 2m @ 2.02g/t Au and 35.65g/t Ag from 34m. The hole was drilled between 45m and 50m from the gold mineralisation intersected by due diligence hole MU2501 in 2025.

At the western end of the VMS system, MU2608 returned 5m @ 0.64% Cu from 63m and 6m @ 0.51% Cu from 79m.

Assays from the remaining Red Hill and Copper Ridge holes are expected over the coming weeks. Metallurgical testing is scheduled to begin during the September quarter, while a 3D induced polarisation survey at the Oval copper-nickel area is due for completion in August.

Azzuro acquired 100% of Red Hill through a licence transfer completed in April 2026. The 79.14-hectare mining licence is valid until 2045.
