Australian Gold and Copper (ASX:AGC) has identified two gold-silver-rich zones west of the main base metals zone at its Browns–Evergreen Project in New South Wales.
Diamond hole 26DDBR013 intersected 13.6m @ 4.6 grams per tonne gold (Au) and 23g/t silver (Ag) from 51.4m, about 35m west of the existing zone.
The hole also returned 3.9m @ 3.2g/t Au and 153g/t Ag from 109m, alongside 7m @ 0.6g/t Au, 12g/t Ag, and a combined zinc and lead grade of 7.7% from 190m.
All reported intervals are downhole widths, with true widths currently unknown.
Managing Director Glen Diemar says the shallow 13.6m intersection ranks among the “strongest” gold results delivered at Browns–Evergreen.
“Our drilling has already uncovered numerous previously unknown mineralised structural zones, each with a differing mineral character,” Diemar says.
“This western mineralised zone looks to have higher tenor gold and silver, and we are now excited about the drilling along strike.”
Core recovery across the 13.6m oxide interval was 50%, which the company attributes to the strongly oxidised and broken host rock. Australian Gold and Copper interprets that diamond drilling may have washed away some friable mineralised material.
The assays follow the mobilisation of a reverse circulation (RC) rig to test Evergreen’s shallow oxide zone, as reported by Mining.com.au on 28 August.
Nine RC holes have since been completed, including scissor and step-out holes testing the new zone to the north and south. Assays from seven diamond holes also remain pending, including hole 26DDBR017 to the south.
“With RC drilling now testing the shallow oxide zone, AGC is rapidly advancing Evergreen towards an initial mineral resource estimate,” Diemar says.
The project was acquired in 2025 and lies 30km from its Achilles discovery, which hosts a 38.5-million-ounce silver-equivalent mineral resource.
Australian Gold and Copper held $7 million in cash and carried no debt as at 31 July, which it says leaves the company well-funded to continue testing the new zone.
Australian Gold and Copper is a precious and base metals explorer with a 2,600km² landholding in the South Cobar Basin, alongside the Junee Gold Project in NSW.
