Aurora Energy Metals (ASX:1AE) has appointed Warren Hallam as a non-executive director, effective from 1 January 2025.
Hallam has over 35 years of experience in the mining sector and is an accomplished non-executive director, metallurgist, and mineral economist. Throughout Hallam’s career, he has held senior operational, strategic and business development roles with Western Mining Corporation (SSE:601168), Metals X (ASX:MLX), and Westgold Resources (ASX:WGX).
Aurora Energy, which has a market capitalisation of $8.23 million, says Hallam’s appointment comes at an “important time”, with ongoing metallurgical testwork underway to optimise processing parameters and to further strengthen the economics of its namesake uranium project in Oregon, following the previously announced option agreement with Eagle Energy Metals (TSX-V:EGL) in the US.
“His extensive experience in both operational and corporate leadership roles will be invaluable as we advance our strategy of strengthening and expanding Aurora’s uranium portfolio,” Aurora Chairman Peter Lester says.
“Warren’s proven ability to deliver growth and optimisation across complex resource projects makes him an excellent addition to our team.”
In parallel, the recent option agreement with Metalbelt Holdings to acquire tenements in Western Australia considered prospective for uranium highlights the company’s evolving strategy to diversify and further expand its uranium asset portfolio.
Aurora Energy Metals is an explorer and developer focused on critical mineral assets. The company’s Aurora Uranium Project in south-east Oregon has a mineral resource estimate of 107.3 million tonnes @ 214 parts per million triuranium octoxide for 50.6 million pounds.
