Aureka to launch drilling in January at Irvine, Tandarra

Aureka (ASX:AKA) is set to launch a drilling program in January at its Irvine and Tandarra projects in Victoria, alongside ongoing geophysics work across the broader Stawell Corridor.

This initial program marks the start of a 7,000m continuous drilling and exploration works program that was previously discussed at the company’s 2024 annual general meeting last week.

“As we round out 2024, it is great to see the exploration team move into position for a strong commencement to 2025,” Managing Director James Gurry says.

At Irvine, Aureka is in the process of mobilising its contractor to site. The company has engaged AMWD Drilling Contractors to conduct the planned extension drilling program.

The program is designed to test the extent of the South Shoot down plunge with three diamond drillholes, representing 2,000m of total drilling from a single rig.

Meanwhile, a diamond drilling program comprising four to six holes, totalling 1,000m, is planned within the Lawry prospect — part of the Tandarra Project — to follow-up on a program conducted in August 2024.

On the geophysics front, the company says it is looking forward to seeing the output from the additional exploration work. To that end, has contracted Nordic Geoscience, which has been working since October this year to review historical data and define new targets.

Aureka is a gold-focused explorer that owns a portfolio of advanced-stage high-grade precious metals projects across Victoria.
