Argent Minerals (ASX:ARD) has discovered 3 new ‘extensive’ zones of outcropping copper mineralisation at its Copperhead Project in Western Australia.
The new zones were based on targets defined by the company’s airborne magnetic radiometric survey completed in August-September 2023 and were uncovered through a helicopter-supported reconnaissance program.
At the Discovery 1 Zone, the $9.43 million market capitalisation company has delineated outcropping copper mineralisation within a regional syncline spanning 3.3km in length within the Discovery Formation.
The company says at the Discovery 2 Zone, copper mineralisation lies on the western limb of a syncline, with samples containing malachite collected over an area measuring 200m north-south by 200m east-west area.
Meanwhile, in the Discovery 3 zone, ‘extensive’ copper mineralisation is pervasive through siltstones with stringers of chrysocolla/malachite over an 8m width. The zone lies on the western limb of a regional syncline, 10km southeast of Discovery 2.
Argent Minerals Managing Director Pedro Kastellorizos says these new copper discoveries are constantly expanding within the Copperhead Project.
“Based on the recent airborne geophysics, the results have confirmed the elevated uranium anomalies have a close association with the copper mineralisation“
“Based on the recent airborne geophysics, the results have confirmed the elevated uranium anomalies have a close association with the copper mineralisation.
This newly discovered exploration method of using elevated uranium anomalies for target generation has allowed Argent to follow up target areas within the Discovery and Gooragoora Formation Siltstone, which have yielded exciting results.”
The company notes 111 rock chip geochemical samples have been dispatched for analysis to ALS laboratories in Perth, Western Australia.
Argent Minerals is an ASX-listed minerals explorer focused on the discovery, extraction, and marketing of precious and base metals across Australia.
As of 30 September 2023, the company had $1.42 million cash at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
