Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has entered a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nusano to supply high-purity lithium chloride from Anson’s Green River Lithium Project in Utah.
Under the MoU, transacted through Anson’s wholly owned subsidiary, A1 Lithium, lithium chloride samples will be sent for testing and qualification by Nusano’s isotope separation system, the results of which will inform negotiations towards a 5-year definitive supply agreement between the two companies.
Nusano will use the lithium chloride as feedstock for lithium-6 and lithium-7 isotopes for advanced nuclear technology applications, in support of Utah’s strategic drive for the development of critical minerals and downstream processing.
CEO Bruce Richardson notes the importance of Utah’s commitment to the development of critical minerals supply chains and downstream processing, and that the MoU represents an “important step in building an integrated, domestic supply chain for materials that are strategically important for the USA and a future of clean energy and national security.”
“The company continues to be in discussions with other off-take partners, particularly for the electric vehicle supply chain which remains its focus, but considers the diversification into the nuclear industry an important strategic step in developing a broader lithium-based industry in the USA, as new technologies that require lithium continue to develop.”
Anson Resources’ portfolio includes Green River and Paradox Lithium in Utah. It is focused on developing significant lithium producing operations in the USA.
