Alice Queen hails Viani’s prospectivity via drilling

Alice Queen (ASX:AQX) has upgraded the prospectivity of the Viani Project in Fiji, upon demonstrating continuity of epithermal gold in the second hole, as part of an ongoing drilling program.

The company says the results from diamond drillhole 25VDD002 at the Dakuniba prospect, has upgraded the potential for the 3km long Dakuniba vein zone to host high-grade low-sulphidation style epithermal (LSE) gold mineralisation.

LSE deposits include Pajingo, Cracow, and Kencana where deeper drilling has discovered more than 1 million ounces of gold in high-grade gold shoots.

Alice Queen says the third drillhole, currently in progress, is targeted to drill 100m below the second drillhole.

The next phase of the program is designed to test for strike extensions to the mineralisation along the west-northwest-east-southeast 3km zone of veining and gold anomalism.

Managing Director Andrew Buxton says if all goes to plan, hole three could extend the vertical high-grade gold along a vertical interval of circa 275m.

“That would be significant,” Buxton says.

“Given the surface strike is greater than 3km, plans are on foot to design our next holes to test the lateral strike extent of this high-grade gold epithermal system at Viani.”

Alice Queen adds that the presence of gold mineralisation greater than 10 grams per tonne is considered “significant” in targeting potential high-grade gold ore shoots at depth.

The Viani Project is located on Vanua Levu, Fiji — which is Fiji’s second largest island. Fiji is located on the Pacific Rim Fire which hosts many porphyry and epithermal deposits such as Grasbery, Panguna, Lihir, Martha Hill, and Vatukoula.

Fiji is considered a proactive mining country with supportive legislations and a long history of gold mining. The Vatukoula Gold Mine, which has been operating for more than 75 years, has produced over 3.8 million ounces of gold resources.

Alice Queen is a gold, copper, and critical minerals explorer focused on discoveries and mining opportunities in Australia and Fiji.
