Alara posts updated production timeline

Alara Resources (ASX:AUQ) has delivered an updated commissioning and production timeline for its Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper Concentrate Project in the Sultanate of Oman.

The $27.28 million market capitalisation company says the updated timeline comes after a manufacturing defect in the high speed (HS) couplings of the SAG Mill caused a delay. The defect is currently being resolved by the supplier.

Alara reports hot commissioning of the entire plant with initial feed of zero/low grade copper ore, followed by quality copper ore leading to production of copper concentrate, is now expected in February 2024.

Dry, wet, and hot commissioning activities began in November 2023 and are still ongoing.

Alara Resources is a precious and base metals explorer and developer focused on developing the Al Wash-hi Majaza Copper-Gold Project in Oman, where it is in the process of constructing copper-gold mining and processing facilities.

As of 30 September 2023, Alara Resources had $4 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest quarterly report.
