Agrimin prioritises West Arunta targets

Agrimin (ASX:AMN) is expecting ‘significant’ activity throughout 2024 within its West Arunta exploration portfolio in 2024, starting with completing exploration agreements and conducting heritage surveys.

Exploration agreements are progressing to facilitate multi-commodity exploration in the region, with exploration targeting the potential for iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) or carbonatite-hosted mineralisation.

Agrimin, which has a market capitalisation of $46.45 million, says the priority exploration work is a gravity survey to further refine targets across the northern extent of its Mackay Project.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Debbie Morrow says the company plans to use the gravity survey to refine the areas of interest, alongside support with drill targeting.

“The prospectivity of the West Arunta has been highlighted in the last few years with a significant increase in activity in the region and recent exploration success adjacent to our tenure has validated the West Arunta as a mineralised province that is worthy of further exploration.”

Once the infill geophysical surveys are complete, Agrimin will conduct modelling and interpretation of the datasets to define drill targets and will then begin planning an appropriate drilling campaign.

The Mackay Potash Project is a wholly owned project that covers over 30km of untested strike extent in the West Arunta region.

Agrimin also holds a 40% interest in privately held Tali Resources, which has ‘significant’ exploration licences across tenure in the West Arunta region.

As of 31 December 2023, the company had about $2.448 million cash and cash equivalents at hand, according to its latest half yearly report.
