ACDC Metals (ASX:ADC) has scheduled a 4,000m follow-up drilling program for later this month after making a new heavy mineral strandline discovery at its Douglas Heavy Mineral Sand Project in Victoria.
The proposed drilling program has been planned to identify the extent of mineralisation discovered to date at Douglas, where ACDC hopes mineralisation will extend to the west.
ACDC Metals says the discovery returned grades of up to 18% total heavy minerals, with a mineralised thickness of up to 33m from shallow depths.
It also shares comparable grades and thicknesses to the nearby Bondi strandline system, which was previously mined by Iluka Resources (ASX:ILU).
Heavy mineral composite samples are currently being prepared and will be shipped to Bureau Veritas in Adelaide to determine the mineral assemblage of the new discovery.
“Our 2024 drilling campaign keeps on delivering great results across our project portfolio, and the new assays from our Douglas project are no exception,” CEO Tom Davidson says.
“Given the positive results, our exploration team is mobilising quickly to execute another campaign this month to understand the extent and potential (of) this discovery. We look forward to progressing this project and will update the market following our upcoming drilling program.”
The discovery comes ahead of ACDC Metals’ scheduled appearance at the RIU Sydney Resources Round-Up conference this afternoon, of which Mining.com.au is an official media partner.
The three-day conference is being hosted this year at the Darling Harbour’s Hyatt Regency Hotel starting today through to 9 May.
